Comprimises: Prepare for science: The obnoxious flickering LED DRLs you see in the world are actually illegal. They happen when a manufacturer has utilized something called PWM or Pulse Width Modulation. It's a cheap workaround for them that allows the high beam headlamps to run at reduced power to provide the DRL function. It's done this way because the maximum safe, effective and legal brightness for a DRL is much lower than the minimum for a high beam headlamp. It looks terrible, but it meets legal requirements, it's cheap to install, and that's pretty much all the automakers care about.
The Problem with LED + PWM: LEDs bulbs are different than halogen bulbs. They're instant-on and instant-off, so PWM feed doesn't dim them--it just makes them flicker as mentioned above. Many companies claim you can fix the problem by using what they call a "CANbus decoder" or capacitor-based "anti-flicker" module to solve the problem, but that's wrong. Some of those devices may eliminate flicker, but your daytime running lights will operate at full high beam intensity and produce lots of glare during the day and dusk--don't be that guy!
The Proper Solution:What you need is a product designed to fix the problem the way it should've been from the start at the vehicle manufacturer. Our Xtreme Pro DRL Driver is that solution. It knows precisely how to handle both jobs. So when it's time for the DRL they get 12% of total possible intensity with ZERO flicker. When it's time for the high beam they get full power as they should. Both will look perfect because they are with this driver.
Installation: You're not going to need any additional modules, CANbus components, jumper wires, or anything else. Already have an Xtreme Pro LED kit? The Xtreme Pro DRL Driver is a simple 1:1 drop-in replacement for the standard 9005 Xtreme Pro driver. Simply remove your current Xtreme Pro driver (and any anti-flicker devices you might have installed) and install the Xtreme Pro DRL Driver. Have a different type or brand of LED kit? Sorry, this driver won't work for you--it's engineered specifically for the XenonDepot Xtreme Pro LED series.
Will it work on my car? We've specifically designed this product around the 5th-generation Toyota 4Runner 9005 high beam / DRL application, but many other vehicles use a similar PWM power signature for DRL mode. We're busily working to compile a database of validated applications.
Lighting the way since 2001: For nearly two decades Xenon Depot has been on the leading edge of the HID and LED lighting industry. While our product line has continually changed over the years, one thing remains the same; our commitment to quality customer service. You come to Xenon Depot because you want a reliable lighting upgrade. We intend to deliver that, and much more. Shipping was horrible. 3 to 10 days was supposed to be the estimate but instead it took almost a month before it arrived. I had to call customer service to find out what was taking so long. I was told they were having issues in the warehouse.
Poor ship time and wrong product
Hello, I sent a separate email to your customer service address so I will not go into the details. In summary, it took 3 weeks (longest at one point was 4 weeks) for the shipment to deliver due to backorder. Yesterday, I attempted to install the product which blew my high beam / DRL. This was due to the wrong product being shipped to me. Instead of an LED DRL Driver, I was sent an LED Driver that was of higher output than my original drivers.
Not working on 2005 Camry
I bought a set of 9005 extreme pro led for may 2005 Camry to replace my current led lights. Keep in mind that my current led lights don't work with drl. I bought this new set in hopes to regain drl functionality on my Camry. I purchased the separate drl driver to replace the ones that comes with extreme pro led. Well I did all of the installation and still no drl functionality. High beams work great but no drl. I have checked the wiring relays and fuses. All look good. Can someone steer me in the right direction?
Order no complete
The bulb never come with the ballast .
I gave these a 4 star rating instead of a 5 because we could not get them to work properly for my application. I have a '10 LS460 and with the extra DRL drivers, the standard high beams would randomly flicker when on. When swapped back to the regular driver, the high beam was fine but there was a constant, high speed flickering from them in the DRL. The product itself seemed well made however and the light output was very good.
Just upgraded the cheap stock Toyota bulbs in my 2016 4Runner with XtremePro LEDs and new drivers. Enormous difference in light output and light quality! I can finally drive at night and actually see the road. XD is THE place. Excellent customer service also.
These DRL drivers do a fairly decent job of reducing the flicker in the led light. I still see flickering from certain angles but it has been greatly reduced.
Nice being able to use my daytime running lights. It got confusing at first on my 4 runner. When day time lights are on, you can't turn on high beam. When low beams are on, then high beams will turn on. Makes since, just didn't know at first and thought there was a problem with the new drivers.
First Rate Customer Support
My second light purchase from XenonDepot and these had a small issue with a first run of the new drivers. They got the issue fixed and out to me quickly and the lights and drivers work great now. Can't say enough good things about this company.
Finally a LED DRL that doesn't flicker..
The OEM HB/LB/Fogs/DRL's on my 4Runner (2018 LE) are dismal...and yellow. I've always changed out to a 6K HID and Fog setup, but since the 4Runner uses the HB for a DRL (lower voltage) there wasn't much on the market. You could get an LED that didn't flicker...but the HB output was terrible. Or you could get a great HB LED...but the DRL would flicker. This solved it! I have a DRL that doesn't blind people and doesn't flicker. The HB output is also 10 times better than stock. Highly recommend XD to my friends and will continue leveraging their products.
