Are Your Lights On?: If you're one of the many 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner owners rocking stock headlamps you are well aware that they struggle to put out enough light to attract a moth. Thankfully the new Morimoto XB LED headlights are here to show you what overbuilt looks like. These will quite simply put to shame any other option on the market today.
Second Gen Update: Xenon Depot had the honor of distributing the first few hundred sets of the XB LED headlights for the 4Runner when they came out in late 2019 to our 4Runner following... but some early adopters weren't 100% satisfied with the light output. In true Morimoto fashion, nothing gets left alone for long and that's why now the new Gen 2 version is in distribution!
More Light Output: The original 4Runner XB's used just two of the three projectors for low beam, and one dedicated high beam. The new setup utilizes all three projectors for the low beam, and has a dual Bi-LED setup. The results? 33% more light output for low beam mode, 100% more output in high beam mode, and a better distribution of light with more foreground (on the ground directly in front of the truck) for improved visibility while cornering. Now that is performance you can take to the trail!
Start-Up Sequence: And if the optical upgrades weren't enough, the badass start up sequence has been added too. When the Daytime Running light kicks on, the projectors illuminate in a two-stage sequence before turning back off in. A video is worth a thousand words here... so make sure to watch the one embedded in the listing to see that in action! While it does absolutely nothing for performance, you can't deny the cool-factor!
Clean: Let's be clear, this is our game. We've gone pro because we have a passion for exceptionally well-built accessories and that's why we think these are worth every penny. The fit and finish are second to none. That's important because when you spend less you'll certainly get less. Nobody wants to see giant gaps and misaligned lights every time they walk up to their 4Runner.
Performance: It's true that you can find cheaper lights but beyond just major alignment and fit issues it's important to consider the point of lights, to begin with... Making night time driving easier, safer, and less stressful. There's a chance you've seen what those cheap lights look like at night and just not noticed... because they weren't bright enough for you to see them. That's not the case with these. Not only do they shine a much brighter light on the road at night time, they look just as stunning in the day time too.
DOT Approved: Unlike the results of just slapping an LED bulb into an old housing, these things will turn nighttime into day. With that kind of power on tap, Morimoto made certain that they'd meet or exceed all SAE, DOT and FMVSS108 regulations. Install and get a little more enlightened.
Plug-n-Play: If Toyota were to have built these they wouldn't be any easier to install. They're properly Plug-N-Play so after mounting directly into your current mounting points, they'll plug into the factory harness and then the only difference you'll notice is how much brighter they are. They won't create feedback, hyper flashing, or any other negative side effects. Well, maybe a bit more attention, but we like that.
Sequential LED DRL: Advanced technology is the name of the game. Now your Toyota can feature the same kind of sequential turn signals that every other company seems to be using. What's going to set you apart is how stunning the LEDs are. The DRLs are powered by Osram 5000K LEDs which are powerful enough to be easily seen even in the brightest sun. If you'd rather get that old-school-cool look of solid on/off signals you can set these up to do that too!
Well-Built: Built tough is a part of the design ethos that went into construction here. That's clear when you consider the PPS housing that's strong and lightweight. The lens itself protects against sun damage with a UV-Coated polycarbonate that will remain crystal clear for years. Inside you'll find more than adequate heat sinks and materials that will outwork any competition.
Spec-Ops: Have you ever wished you could own a special vehicle that only got released to you or a small batch of owners? That's what these lights look like they're a part of we think. They have special little details to set themselves apart. The piano black trim and smoked gray side markers keep the color scheme neutral, and the quad Kuria-optic projectors are as modern as it gets.
Lighting the way since 2001: For nearly two decades Xenon Depot has been on the leading edge of the HID and LED lighting industry. While our product line has continually changed over the years, one thing remains the same; our commitment to quality customer service. You come to Xenon Depot because you want a reliable lighting upgrade. We intend to deliver that, and much more. Small changes for 2020, but look great!
Install was simple, directions very clear. I ended up having to fuse tap to the EFI NO. 2 fuse and use a 10A fuse to get the DRLs and start up sequence to function properly. Other than that it looks great! Much better output than stock. I love the triple projector look!
